The Film Festival of the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University is the result of the efforts of MU students who, during two semesters in the courses PV110 Fundamentals of Film Speech and PV113 Production of Audiovisual Works, undergo complete training in practical film production, often without previous experience. In small teams and individually, they go through the entire process of preparing a short film from themes through literary and technical scripts, production, editing, post-production, and master the work of writers, directors, cinematographers, sound engineers, producers, editors, actors and others.
The finished films, representing various genres and technical approaches, are publicly screened at the May festival at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, and since the 25th edition also at the Cinema City Velký Špalíček in front of an audience of almost 1,000. The best films are awarded by a professional jury and by audience voting in the theaters. The winners receive cash prizes, gifts from sponsors, and a trophy – the Filmobol statuette.
