4th Film Festival

Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University

When the festival was created four years ago, it was mainly due to the lack of multimedia production of the Faculty of Informatics. We were working with one camera, a terrible camera and zero experience. The first year was not great, and there was a lot of authorial sweat and blood.Over the next three years, the situation changed. A group of fanatics formed around the festival, sacrificing long spring nights year after year to an uncertain goal. Every year they repeat their "never again" and ten minutes before the festival they run around the corridors of the faculty shouting "you've got it on tape". However, they manage to hide their creative sweat and blood, so that it may appear that they are creating with a light pen. This year the festival was threatened. A DVD celebrating the tenth anniversary of the School of Computer Science seemed to have the upper hand. When they saw it, the film fanatics woke up and got to it. Suddenly, ideas for promotion, sponsors and film ideas emerged. Film strips flashed before their eyes and pulp began to flow through their veins. Legs became tripods and arms grew into cameras. Wrinkles appeared on foreheads and inscriptions like "director", "sound engineer" or "cinematographer". An obsession with film. And how did that turn out? Come and see. You're bound to hear something like "you got it" or "never again". Certainly not for the last time.

About festival

The Film Festival of the Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University is the result of the efforts of MU students who, during two semesters in the courses PV110 Fundamentals of Film Speech and PV113 Production of Audiovisual Works, undergo complete training in practical film production, often without previous experience. In small teams and individually, they go through the entire process of preparing a short film from themes through literary and technical scripts, production, editing, post-production, and master the work of writers, directors, cinematographers, sound engineers, producers, editors, actors and others.
